Neolithic Thinker is a stool hand sculpted from red tezontle stone, a highly oxidized and porous volcanic rock endemic to Mexico. Its design draws from different historical references coming together in a syncretic form that is at once primitive, modern, and prehispanic. It’s deliberately ambiguous shape-making of the Neolithic Thinker, a paradoxical entity that can be confused for art or tool but stands for both. Panorammma is a furniture design atelier based in Mexico City that seeks to redefine our relationship with functional objects through experimentation with materials and form.
