This ornate and impressive stool is carved from a single block of wood, and likely comes from the Tawba/Luba areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo and belonged to the Chief. They serve as metaphorical, not literal, seats of kingship. Four figures, two females and two males each with an arm supporting the seat.
