The Plopp Stools are made through a complex and innovative technology called ‘free inner pressure deformation’ – a manufacturing process developed by Polish designer and engineer Oskar Zieta, whereby flat, welded steel sheets are industrially inflated. This new process allows for the creation of complex, lightweight and weight-bearing forms while using only a minimal amount of material. Using this technology a new piece of steel furniture is created which in its form refers to plastic furniture but with the solidity and wearing qualities of steel.
