Private re-edition for PRADA of the iconic 1960s Inflatable Stool designed by Verner Panton. Exclusively produced by Verpan for the Spring/Summer PRADA Men’s fashion show, held in Milan on June 17, 2018.The entire space in which the show was held was filled with these transparent seats, creating an installation that seemed to vanish in the dim light of sparse illumination, giving the room an atmosphere that was both psychedelic and uncanny. Each stool features a unique VERPAN for PRADA inscription. With the Inflatable Stool, Panton created an unpretentious piece that, despite its modest form, offers an extraordinary visual experience, best described as "floating on air."Introduced in the early 1960s, the Inflatable Stool was one of the first furniture pieces ever made from inflatable material. It exemplifies Panton’s curiosity and bold experimentation with new materials, as well as his flair for system-based design: the cubes were conceived to function individually or in multiples, forming lounge arrangements or daybeds.8 pieces available, all in good condition.
