Prouvé Tabouret Bois

Design Within Reach

$1,290

With its mix of angular shapes, crafted hardwood, and industrial fittings, the Tabouret Bois (1941) is a pure expression of French designer-engineer Jean Prouve's functionalist style. Constructed from solid wood, this robust stool with a round, flat top can also work as a side table. Its four triangular legs branch out to evenly distribute the occupant's weight, held together by sturdy powder-coated steel joints. The open structure and supporting elements reflect Prouve's love of architecture and engineering. A true mix of midcentury modern and industrial sensibilities, it pointed the way for furniture of the post-war period. Made in Poland.
