The Shoemaker Chair™ stool is a true classic made in Denmark since 1936 and is still produced by the local joinery of Form and Refine.‎ The seat is made from a single solid beech wood and, due to variations in the grain of the wood, each Shoemaker Chair™ is completely unique.‎ The turned legs and the T connection together create a harmonious piece of furniture with strong references to the universe of Nordic design.‎The construction may seem rather simple, but it is technically difficult to make, in fact the piece of wood of the seat must be sculpted with great precision to ensure maximum comfort.‎ At the end of the process each model is finished by hand before moving on to a three-step process of staining or oiling the surfaces.‎ Available in three sizes and with different finishes: natural beech and black painted beech.‎"We have tirelessly optimized the chair since the early stages, adjusting minor aspects year after year – both in the production flow and in the finished product.‎ Among other things, the T legs were added for extra stability and the seat was re-shaped and rounded so that if the chair falls the rounded profile would protect the topline from breaking.‎" Lars Werner, 2nd generation of the Werner Family.‎
