Vintage Tripod Stool In The Style Of Jean Prouvé, 1940s

Chairish

$538

Vintage, tripod stool / school stool, in the style of French designer, Jean Prouve, circa, 1940's/1950's. Stool rests on a frame with tripod legs made of tubular steel, with a typical, wavy welded design underneath (see photos.) The seat is made of beech plywood. Seat diameter: 32 cm x 32 cm. Stool is in its original, unrestored condition. It has marks and signs of wear, age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of age and time, on the overall structure (see photos.) Wood shows age. Seat has old marks and signs of woodworm, but has been fully treated. Some edges are chipped (see photos.) Metal shows age. Frame has remnants of the original, industrial green paint from the period, as well as some other layers of paint and rust (see photos.) Piece has only been gently cleaned, just enough, with respect to its original patina of time, and to keep its integrity. It has just been oiled and waxed, with natural beeswax. Stool has both printed and embossed markings on the underside. All original legs tips are present (see photos.) It is solid and stable. All photos taken in natural, outdoor light, and the last two photos taken in direct sunlight for perspective, so colors may vary, based upon brightness, reflections, angles and perspective in which they are viewed. This piece is designed in the style of the selected designer and/or manufacturer
