The western bed is an original design that draws on the tradition of Mid-Century Modernism and Danish sensibilities. It's a statement of clean lines, simplicity, and the natural beauty of hardwood. It features a solid walnut headboard canted at a 95 degree angle, a solid walnut perimeter and tapered, solid walnut legs. The brackets that support the headboard are black, powder coated steel. The slats and all support pieces are domestic Baltic birch plywood. The legs on this bed are 10" tall and the side rails are 2.5" tall, and the height of the platform is 11.5" (the mattress is hemmed in by the side rails). The total total footprint for a king is 77.5" x 83". For a cal king it's 73.5" x 87". For a queen its 61.5" x 83". The headboard is 13" tall, with a 10" gap from the platform to the bottom of the headboard (this gap can be modified). The top of the headboard is approximately 38" off the ground. Many of these details can be modified for a small customization fee.Prices for variations on this bed in Walnut are as follows - KING / CAL KING (With Storage) - $3780QUEEN / FULL (With Storage) - $3480KING / CAL KING (No Storage) - $2850QUEEN / FULL (No Storage) - $2700The bed ships flat. The assembly process is very quick and simple- the four rails that compose the basic frame fit into each other with a puzzle-type joint (putting it together is like completing a 4 piece puzzle), then the puzzle joints are reinforced with two bolts in the head rail and a series of 5 screws in each of the head and toe slats. The legs are screwed into place and the headboard attaches with four bolts into the platform and four bolts through the metal support brackets. The entire assembly process should take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours.
