18TH Century American 6 Board Pine Blanket Chest With Boot Jack Ends. Chest has cotter pin also called snipe hinges which are original. There are repairs on the top where the cotter pins come up and through as they should. The top also has a couple of cracks which can be seen in the photos but are stable. Chest was refinished years ago and whom ever did they did a nice job in my opinion. Chest has rosehead nail construction which is plainly visible. Chest is 43 1/2" wide and 16" deep and stands 22 1/2" tall. The interior "till" is made of chestnut which indicates a northern Rhode Island or Northeastern Connecticut origin or possible southern Worcester county of Massachusetts. Chest was a witness to our American Revolution!
