This late 17th Century oak coffer or chest is a grand old survivor having witnessed over three centuries of history. While no longer used, it retains its original wire hinge loops. It is typical of its time with a boarded cover and lunette carved frieze. Below are three panels with lozenge carved medallions flanked by carved terminals. This piece is as useful today as it was 300 years ago providing quite a bit of storage space. (Its survival may partially be due to this fact.) This piece would make a striking addition to any room or office. Dimensions: 52"L x 28"H x 18"W
