Lovely handcrafted late 18th-Century English George III solid elm coffer with hinged lid. It is a six board chest, simple in design with the only embellishment a modestly carved trimmed edge along the sides and front of the lid. It retains the original iron lock plate, the wonderful surface and patina. The hinges were replaced many many years ago.
