Scandinavian hand-painted 19th century pine strong box circa 1840. Good example of traditional rustic swedish woodwork. painted in a russet red paint with hand painted cream drags. Original iron strap work and hinges, also the original lock, but no key or latch. The lid opens to a plain, bare pine storage space. Age splits to top but structurally sound, expected surface marks and minor losses, but ready for everyday use.
