19th century swedish hand painted dome top coffer circa 1824. fine example of swedish traditional hand painted furniture made from oak. dome shaped lid with original hinges.  hand painted to the front with initials and the date of 1824, these were often given as wedding presents.  lid opens to reveal some hand painted prints inside which have been used to bridge the shrinkage gaps in the timber.  decorative metal work which does have some minor losses. original lock present but not fitted. Minor surface marks to wood work and surface fading.  structurally strong and ready for everyday use.
