English inlaid wooden box, c.1840, with an ornate lid of mother-of-pearl, and abalone inlay over ebony. Top edge is also inlaid with pearl and marquetry. The interior features a tufted royal blue silk lid panel with inset mirror and a spacious linen-lined compartment. Originally a gentleman’s dressing box, now a handsome catchall for remotes, chargers, or phones. Minor age wear to silk and mirror (see photos). Key not included.
