Shown is an antique early 20th c. set of carved wooden Chinese gift boxes lacquered in red with peach motifs. The boxes are also carved in peach like forms. The peach is considered a blessed fruit that symbolizes immortality and is a key element to the Chinese God of immortality, Sau, who represents longevity, easy living, and victory over strife as he holds a staff with gourds in his right hand and a peach in his left. These beautiful pieces are in excellent condition and show true craftsmanship and attention to detail. They are in excellent condition with no visible signs of wear.
