Lovely antique solid wood trunk or Blanket Chest. Estate sale - Purchased in mid 1980's in Harmony, Pennsylvania. And enjoyed for many years. Patina as would be expected from a mid-late 1800's truck. Dovetailed sides and a raised inlaid top center. Solid construction. Hinges in good condition. No key. Open trunk base. No side handles. Always in use for the last 45 years and kept in the house. Exterior condition as expected from antique but very solid and usable. Piece of wood missing and noted in picture. Dimensions: Measurements are from the longer points - molding edges to molding edges add approximately 1/2" to height for the inlaid center piece Unsure what type of wood. I don't think it is pine - feels like a hard wood, maybe oak? Enjoy this lovely piece in your home. Great as a coffee table, end of the bed for storage or seating, or stack with another trunk for added interest and storage. Just a great piece.
