We are delighted to offer for sale this original circa 1880 English Elm strapped with Wrought Iron rivets, leather handled, canvas steamer trunk This is a very well made example of a steamer trunk designed for luxury travel on cruise liner ships. This would have been a very expensive piece in its day and the height of sophisticated travel. This piece has an amazing patination that can only be achieved through honest age and genuine use This is a decorators piece and really sets a mood, it can be used laying down as a coffee table of course which is what most people do, they make great conversation pieces. Condition is period and wonderfully patinated, you honestly could ask for a better example, one of the side handles is missing, usually they are both gone so that fact that one remains is a bonus!
