Hand carved decorative trunk / collector's chest, circa early 20th century. Features a hinged-top that opens to reveal a removable insert. All hardware (including the handles) is original. Retains the white painted initials: "C.S.H." to both front and back. Sourced from a century barn in Andover, MA with several other period examples. Patina / wear from age and use, including heavy scuffing to the surface and edge loss to the base; remains in structurally sound, fine, antique condition. Measures: L 32.75" x D 21.25" x H 12.25"
