scandinavian 19th century folk art handmade pine box circa 1830. good quality piece of swedish woodwork.  these strong boxes would have been used to store the households valuables in. made in pine with original metal strap work. held in place by studs.  carrying handle to lid.  original key and lock which does work, but it's a lock you need to learn how to use due to its age and construction.  interior of natural pine, later painted black on the outside. losses to woodwork and natural age splits in line with age and use.
