A fine 17th century Spanish walnut chest. Made with six solid planks of thick 5cm walnut. It retains its original hardware iron work throughout. Excellently crafted dovetail joints with each tail being secured by a large nails making it completely sturdy with no movement whatsoever. Due to its large size and excessively built structure it is extremely heavy but yet maintains elegant proportions. It has a deep colour and wonderful patina. In excellent condition for its age, extremely sturdy with no movement in the joints.
