A lovely antique pine immigrant's trunk retaining original red stained finish and original handles, closure and iron straps attached with rose head nails. The body is dovetailed and carved on the front with presumably the owner’s name, “Xaver Musler.” Inside, there are pencil inscriptions, one in a child’s hand writing “Abbie Musler” and two others, probably longer names with dates 18??, one possibly 1866. The trunk likely dates prior to 1850. Very attractive antique patina, with heavy worming in places and some heavy wear at the top corners, all stable and very sturdy. H: 14 ¾ W: 31 D: 18 ¼
