There are no doubts about the identity of this American of Martinsville three-drawer chest. It is marked and a standout in beautiful wood finishes like burl, cherry and walnut. This is from the Hollywood Regency period and it is a wonderful addition to many decorating styles. The condition is beautiful and the patina is incredible. The detail, the shape, the walnut touches and the Georgian design make this American of Martinsville vintage cabinet a must-have for collectors. This cabinet stands out thanks to its elegant walnut panels and patina. This is a mid 20th century piece that is accented with beautiful woodwork. It is designed in a rectangle, paneled top and sides, the case fitted with three long drawers with paneled fronts, all on a molded base. Top drawer has the manufacturer's metal tag. It measures 21 inches tall, 22-1/2 inches wide, and 12 inches deep. The piece presents very well, but the top of the cabinet has some irregularities to the burl finish (see pictures) that would benefit from a bit of conservancy. American of Martinsville began in Virginia in 1906 and established a reputation for design and style. The company originally began solely with bedroom furniture, but eventually branched out to include an array of case goods and tables. Today, the brand is owned by Akin Furniture Group.
