Antique 19th century Chinese storage trunk with red lacquer finish and gold decoration. Crafted in elm with dovetailed and pegged construction with brass hardware. Unique top. Instead of being hinged, the top slides forward and can be completely removed. When turned upside down the top could be used as a tray. Excellent antique condition. The top does show wonderful wear.
