Authentic antique American postal sorting cabinet in solid oak, dating to the early 20th century. This piece was originally used in the historic Long Island City post office in Queens, NY (built in 1928). The cabinet retains its original paneled doors and fully intact interior of numbered pigeonhole compartments. The piece has been beautifully refinished with careful attention to maintaining the natural patina throughout. Structurally sound and highly functional, with doors that operate smoothly and original interior dividers fully intact.
