Antique chest with a flat lid in a casket style. It is made of heavy oak. The front is decorated with rounded arches, typical of former Upper Bavaria and Tyrol, where the chest most likely originated; estimated age between 1750 and 1800. The hinges are made of iron; the handles are also made of heavy iron, attached with antique square nails, and the crossbars with wooden pegs. Dimensions are: L 123 x D 57 x H 52 cm. The feet project 7.5 cm from the front. Condition: The chest is still in its original, unrestored, good, solid condition, despite many nicks and age-related wear. The snap lock is missing; only the triangular locking hook remains. The chain for the lid was probably replaced at some point.
