A stunning large antique Tuscan two-door cabinet (buffet - credenza) with Renaissance style polychromed decoration. circa 1850 Hand-crafted in the Provincial Tuscany region of central Italy in the mid-19th century, old solid wood construction, most likely pine in the original paint finish, Neoclassical taste, having a rectangular top over conforming two door cupboard, opening to spacious interior fitted with one shelf, rising on tapering squared legs with ring-and-spike feet. The door and side panels feature inset panels with hand painted whimsical flags capped by grotesque scrolling foliate embellishments. Dimensions: (approx) 48.25" High, 63.75" Wide, 27.5" Deep Condition Report: Good antique condition with beautifully aged warm rustic heavily worn distressed chippy paint patina. Wear consistent with age and extensive use, including scattered chippy paint losses throughout, minor losses, old restorations, nicks and dings, areas of exposure related wear to interior, one door off kilter, accompanied by key.
