This piece is a large Antique Korean Bandaji storage chest, made of warm-toned hardwood with extensive black iron hardware. The front is decorated with ornate iron fittings—hinges, corner brackets, diamond-shaped studs, and symbolic motifs such as the manja (a traditional Korean good-fortune symbol). The hardware is both decorative and functional, reinforcing the structure while creating a bold contrast against the wood. The chest opens from the top, revealing a spacious interior with natural grain patterns.
