Antique Korean Tonsu chest, elaborately decorated with ornate brass mounts in various geometric forms, some of which have incised landscapes and other imagery like pine and bamboo. The chest also has a butterfly shaped lock plate. Lock and key present. Handles are on the side for carrying. The front folds down on hinges and opens to a large bottom cabinet and lined interior- perfect for linens and blankets, under a storage space with small drawers, some covered. Korea, circa late 1800s to early 1900s. Measures: 40"" H x 34 1/2" W x 17 1/2" D.
