An exceptional late 19th century American flat-top packing trunk, perfectly preserved for contemporary interior design. Built with a heavy pine frame wrapped in its original, nicely patinaed olive-drab canvas-duck fabric, the piece is structurally fortified by vertical oak hardwood slats and blackened iron protective hardware. All three front latches work. The true highlight of this trunk is the exceptional "reveal" moment: upon opening, it features a near-pristine, incredibly bright green and yellow Victorian floral lithographed wallpaper lining. Crucially, the rare, original removable wood-framed upper garment tray is completely intact and perfectly detailed.
