Japanese hibachi (brazier) made of beautiful Keyaki (elm) wood, with a built-in stand. The front features three long drawers with incised metal pulls. The interior is copper lined. The table is handcrafted in wood with wood and inset with two beautiful folded copper-lined boxes. The top’s center vessel has a glass lid, the outer lids are wood. Three shallow drawers store accouterments on each side. this beautifully figured hibachi with drawers and original lining from the Kansai Region of Japan. Hibachi like this were used with charcoal to heat water for tea and sake as well as provide heat for the room they are in.
