1960’s large mid century glass fronted cabinet – up zavody. Superb practical piece of mid century storage by the czech maker up zavody and designed by frantisek mezulanik. Czech was a large producer of high quality mid century furniture following the surge of modernism originated by the bauhaus school. The left side of the cabinet features two small drawers (internal dimensions 38l x 33w x 10h) above which sits a good sized cabinet (internal dimensions 40l x 35w x 22/29/22 heights which are adjustable). The main cabinet features a large glass fronted section with original sliding glass doors opening to reveal two adjustable shelves (32l x 83w x 23h, all cm). The lower shelf is 42l x 83w x 22h. The whole cabinet is beautifully made in a mix of sapele timber with birch contrasting. The cabinet sits on an ebonised birch base. Our workshop has gently restored the cabinet so all drawers and doors run well and the cabinet is in exceptional original condition. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
