A French carved and painted two-drawer wood side chest, from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This period Neoclassical side chest from France has a slightly overhanging top with canted front corners, atop a case which houses a pair of drawers flanked within canted front side posts. It is presented upon four elegantly curved cabriole style legs. The raised panel drawers are each fitted with flower-head pulls. There is a new custom beige finish, with lighter trim about the edges. This late 18th century French petite commode is the perfect piece where a smaller sized chest is needed; perhaps as a small nightstand, or used as an end table with storage next to your favorite reading chair.
