Produced by tatra pravenec in the czech republic. Czech design will always be affiliated to the bauhaus movement which inspired a generation of design and industrial production in czechia principally during the second half of the 20th century with producers such as ton and up zavody amongst many others. Tatra pravenec’s origins were originally as a timber and bentwood producer and supplier of chairs, but in the boom period of post-war furniture production they developed as a sophisticated independent producer. This is a high quality practical blanket box which can be used as a storage cabinet or console. In exceptional original condition the cabinet has been sensitively restored in our own workshop. Designed by frantisek jirak. internal dimensions: l40 x w75 x h43 cm. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
