Lastra White Tea Canister

An overlapping wooden mold, used for centuries to form Parmesan and other cheeses throughout Italy, inspired Lastra dinnerware’s rustic yet chic shapes. A dusting of brown at the edges suggests the ash that was used to preserve these artisan cheeses and highlights each unique silhouette. Since 1983, Vietri has specialized exclusively in Italian handcrafted ceramics, stainless and pewter flatware, mouth blown glassware, lamps, urns and planters. Families of artisans with 3 or 4 generations of history create these special pieces using centuries-old techniques. The subtle color from a paintbrush and the curving stroke of the artist's hand are never repeated in quite the same way, making each piece truly unique.
