1960s Hand-Tooled Leather Ottoman With Pre-Columbian Motifs

Chairish

$595

Traveling Man treasures is selling this vintage hand-tooled leather ottoman decorated with pre-Columbian relief motifs after Angel Pazmiño, made in Ecuador during the 1960s-1970s. The intricate geometric iconography draws deeply from Inca, Mayan, and Aztec symbolic art—often depicting localized deities, solar calendars, and spiritual geometry. The unmarked ottoman is in good overall condition with normal signs of usage wear, and made from thick, heavy-duty brown Ecuadorian saddle leather featuring hand-tooled patterns. It was engineered with a heavy-duty perimeter zipper underneath and a sturdy side strap, allowing it to dual-function as robust traveling suitcases or storage trunks; although we recommend its most appropriate use is as a decorative ottoman. DIMENSIONS: (approx) 20" Diameter x 10.5" High Angel Pazmiño was highly celebrated for blending sleek Mid-Century Scandinavian furniture structures with traditional, deeply embossed South American indigenous art.
