19th century English lift top ottoman made from mahogany. The frame is serpentine shaped and has wonderfully hand-carved shells on the knees following down to the cabriole legs. The aprons also are decorated with hand carving and routed edges. The top has been newly upholstered in linen and finished with a single welt decoration. the top lifts up to reveal a mahogany compartment for storage.
