The structure of the Leplì pouf is in birch plywood and poplar with uprights in solid beech and infill in kraftliner. In the version with storage compartment, the side shells are in moulded rigid polyurethane, the metal parts of the opening mechanism and the zips are in nickel-plated steel and zamak, and the lid is in birch plywood. The base is in poplar plywood with a scratch-resistant black lacquered MDF bottom. The seat is padded with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding (the model with storage compartment has polyurethane foam padding for the structure and lid). The Leplì poufs can be upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather or fabric with an ornamental leather band. When the upholstery is in leather the ornamental band is always the same colour as the pouf. In the leather version four folds originate from the central button of the seat to define the profile of the pouf. In the fabric version the folds are replaced by stitching.Leplì is a stool, bench and pouf. Kensaku Oshiro designs four versatile pieces with a strong identity. The designer draws on traditional Poltrona Frau processes and decorations, combining them with sartorial details borrowed from the world of fashion. Classic stitching and soft folds bring out the sinuous simplicity of the design. The voluptuous curves of the stool, in particular, are inspired by the female form and, like in a dress, a slender belt highlights her “waist”.
