While still a student, he began working on furniture designs in his father's company. As early as 1933, osvaldo borsani was awarded a silver medal at the fifth milan triennale for his acclaimed project, 'casa minima'. in 1953, osvaldo and his twin brother, fulgenzio, founded the company tecno. The company became known for its research-based approach to creating furniture designs. Tecno's significant designs include the d70 sofa from 1954 and the p40 chaise longue from 1955.
