Tulp

Tulp’s softly welcoming lines of Stefen Scholten’s tulip design pay homage to nature.‎ Its unique form can be traced back to a trip that the Dutch designer made to Indonesia.‎ Looking over some chairs placed around a series of round tables at a garden party, Scholten observed that they were arranged in a pattern resembling a tulip and decided to use this as inspiration for the Tulp chair.‎Tulp’s open and comfortable lines evoke the characteristic flower of the Netherlands with armrests that resemble its leaves.‎It is available in three versions – on wooden legs, swivelling on a wooden base, or on a tubular metal frame.‎ The manufacturing process allows it to be disassembled at the end of its life cycle, its rigid polyurethane shell co-moulded with flexible expanded polyurethane padding and free of metal parts, enabling components to be separated for recovery and recycling.‎
