17th century celadon lamp with shade. The Ming dynasty (1368-1644) was know for its exceptional quality celadon. Celadon from this period had a slightly olive-tinted glaze as opposed to the Song dynasty celadon glazes which tended to be grassier in color. This vase was drilled in the 1930s, and has bronze doré mounts in the style of Caldwell. This converted Ming vase exhibits some firing flaws, see photographs. The lamp parts are in the style of the 1930s. Overall condition is consistent with age and use. Dimensions: 7” diameter, 32” height
