Perhaps Lurelle Guild’s ultimate stroke of design genius, the Console table lamp for Chase. Guild was a pre-eminent designer of his time, creating works for Electrolux, Heywood-Wakefield, the International Silver Company, Kensington, and others. He was a founding member of the Society of Industrial Designers. Quintessentially spare of design and ornamentation, the Console lamp features a brushed chrome body with polished chrome highlights (the base in particular, the lighting hardware as well). This lamp seems to be all original, with the exception that I’ve had a custom shade made in the style of the shade shown in the Chase catalogue. Made entirely of chrome-plated solid brass (typical of the Chase Company’s use of superior and durable metals), and in excellent condition. Ultra-rare, especially in this excellent condition; museum-worthy. Rewired and fitted with a hi-lo, in-line switch on the cord, so you don't have to operate the lights by the pull-chains. Dimensions: about 17 inches tall; the base measures 5 3/8 wide by 2 7/8 inches deep. The shade is 11 1/4 wide and 8 1/2 deep.
