1950s Italian Brass + Opaline Glass Table Lamp By Ignazio Gardella For Azucena

Chairish

$4,000

Originally designed in 1956, the Arenzano table lamp takes its name from the Ligurian town where Ignazio Gardella realized several of his celebrated works. Its straightforward silhouette is elevated by thoughtful detail: a domed opaline glass shade swelling in soft curvature, crowned by a looped brass finial. The slender brass stem is grounded by a circular base. When lit, the opaline glass diffuses a warm, atmospheric glow—an expression of Gardella’s architectural ethos translated into light. Literature: Domus 337 (December 1957); Azucena catalog, 1960s. Giuliana Gramigna Repertoire 1950-2000, Allemandi Turin, 2003, p. 49. Condition: Great vintage condition. The brass shows a warm patina with minor surface wear consistent with age. This lamp has been professionally rewired by our team of restorationists with a new plug. Accepts three E12 light bulbs.
