A circa 1960s French crystal urn style table lamps for Marbro Lamp Company, The lamps are in excellent vintage condition, fully restored with all new wiring and restored original hardware. Main Body (Urn/Vase Form): The core of the lamp consists of a thick, heavy clear crystal body sculpted into a classic, monumental urn shape. The surface features vertical, faceted optical cuts that capture and refract light beautifully.Ornate Gilt Handles: Flanking the glass body are two large, dramatic, scrolling metal handles finished in an antique gold gilt or polished brass. Their sweeping, curvilinear shape is a hallmark of glamorous Hollywood Regency design.Hardware and Cluster: The top features a solid brass central riser tube leading up to a classic Marbro double-socket cluster. Each socket operates independently with its own dangling ball-and-chain pull switch. It is crowned with a decorative brass finial.Base (Plinth): The entire structure rests on a square, tiered gilt-metal plinth base adorned with intricate, Neoclassical relief casting and foliate detailing around the border. The Marbro Lamp Company was established by Morris Markoff and his brother (Mar-bro) after World War II in the garment district of Los Angeles. While specializing in a wide selection of antiques and decorative accessories, they are best known for their high quality lamps. Lamp parts were sourced from all-over the world, and shipped but always assembled in the LA shop; this fine example of a thickly modeled faceted crystal lamp with gilt-metal mounts.
