Here is a gorgeous table lamp from the mid-century featuring a pierced/cut-out design on a pottery base with an inner textile shade diffuser. This type of lamp is often referred to as a lava lamp as the red, ochre, orange colors of the glaze look like hot lava! They re highly sought after and difficult to come by, as it's a technique no longer being made. This particular lamp has an inner bulb and a standard bulb on the top - both in great working order. The bottom of the lamp is a brown painted metal base, which matches the top rod.
