C.1970s; Mid-Century Modernist, lamp attributed to Lightolier This smoked lucite, in a mushroom or space-age shaped domed lucite shade top, with a chrome base body, with 3-way, atomic-like light sockets, has been newly re-wired to today's standard. Takes 3 standard bulbs 25-40 watt bulb maximum. Either way this is a wonderful, man-cave, den, office, living area inclusion, but maybe inserted into a Palm Springs, Hollywood vibe, or prop for a television series/movie set, with a cool vibe. Almost anywhere one, likens an eclectic, Boho-Chic, Mid-Century to Modernist and/or Minimalist diaspora of design, but within any transitional and contemporary domain. When this lamp was found in an estate sale, the owner had spray-painted the lamp gray to our dismay. We painstakingly removed the paint, a feet of patience onto itself, to maintain the original chrome plating, enstowed us to restore this to it's original intention of look, and feel, beyond the use. We hope we have done justice to this Vintage, and it becomes a unifying point within any interior domain. Shade Dimensions: 16" Diameter x 8.50"H. Overall Height & main Dimensions to Finial Top: 16"W x 16"D x 33.75"H. In great condition. The "only" restoration to this wonderful page age, Op-Art Minimalist lamp was to re-plate the stepped collar around the base, which buttress' the neck or stem, as well as re-wire it for the sake of updating electrical or wired pieces to today's standard code.
