1970s Marbro Lamp Company French Cloisonné, Enamel, Gilded Ormolu Lamps - A Pair

$4,395

Marbro Pair of Cloisonne, Enamel, French Gilded Ormolu, Table Lamps Marbro Issue Number 8566 The prestigious Marbro Lamp Company manufactured this unique pair of Chinese cloisonne vase lamps in 1970-80s. More correctly Marbro converted the cloisonne vases into a magnificent pair of lamps during the dates just mentioned but the date the vases were made is unrecorded. Working with cloisonne takes meticulous skill and gifted artistry as is displayed in the artwork which has been reversed to produce the matching set. The Marbo team chose the best and their Marbros' wisdom of combining a suburb cloisonne vase with gilded French ormolu bases, ornate gilded ormolu handles, and Levett solid brass electrical hardware produced these famous Marbro Table Lamp legends. Ormolu - Wikipediahttps://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Ormolu Ormolu is the gilding technique of applying finely ground, high-carat gold–mercury amalgam to an object of bronze, and for objects finished in this way. ‎ To find a pair of delicately crafted lamps this size and quality is very rare. The lamps were positioned on either side of a Louis XV bed on Louis XV bedside tables in the master bedroom of Cavendish House, an English mansion built in California. They are the pride of my collection. Dimensions: H 34.5" W 11.25" D 8.5" Max vase diameter 8.5"
