Here's a 1980s postmodern pastel colorway take on Chinoiserie in this ginger jar form lamp with loads of visual impact! Great size at 12" diameter and wonderful pattern play between the delicate iris flowers and the abstract fish scale motif. Main colors are against a white ground, with beautiful pale pastel Iris flowers in shades of peach, pink, lavender and mauve, with green and pale blue leaves with a Chinese or Japanese feel. All the pattern is in relief, lightly incised for texture. Pattern repeats all the way around the piece. Finished with a traditional black jar stand at the base and vase cap at top. The glossy glazed ceramic body of the lamp is in great condition, and we note only minor age patina on the metal fittings. The wiring has been tested, but as with all vintage lighting, it is advisable to have a professional inspect prior to use/installation. Height to top of socket is 20", height to top of finial is 27.5" with existing harp, though harp and finial can be easily switched if you want a different size. Base diameter is 7" across.
