Antique Arts & Crafts Table Lamp Doulton Lambeth Signed English Pottery Persian Iznik Style

Chairish

$1,400

A striking ceramic table lamp, crafted in the Arts & Crafts tradition with clear influences from Persian Iznik design. The surface is richly decorated with an incised foliage and arabesque motif in ochre, deep cobalt blue, and sage green, all set against a subtly mottled ground — a palette and pattern beautifully in tune with the artistic values of the late 19th-century British decorative arts movement. Clearly signed on the underside with the Doulton rosette, dated 1883, and marked with the incised model number 476. It also bears the impressed monograms of two skilled ceramic decorators: ELE, attributed to Louise E. Edwards (active circa 1873–1890), recognized for her detailed workmanship and Eastern-inspired motifs; and ELH, linked to Elizabeth Hubert, another accomplished artist of the same period. Their work on this lamp reflects the era’s appreciation for handcraftsmanship, artistic collaboration, and the aesthetic ideals of the late 19th-century British Arts & Crafts movement. A perfect statement piece for a hallway console, an occasional table, or beside a well-loved armchair. It also makes an exceptional gift for admirers of English decorative arts, historical ceramics, or the Arts & Crafts aesthetic. Measurements: Total height including fittings is 30". Vase is 15 3/4" tall by 6" diameter approximately. Weight: 5 lbs. 8 oz. unpacked.
