Derby porcelain refers to the highly esteemed fine bone china and porcelain manufactured in Derby, England, starting around 1750. Known for its exceptional hand-painting, unglazed "biscuit" figures, and lavish 22-karat gold detailing, the historic company ultimately evolved to become the globally recognized Royal Crown Derby .This elegant lamp is a repurposed 19th C Derby porcelain urn from the Regency period(Circa 1800-1830). These "campana"-form urns were frequently mounted as lamps in the early 20th C. The central panel features a finely hand-painted "topographical landscape, a hallmark of the Derby factory. The urn displays extensive, high-quality gold gilding on the base, rims, and handles, characteristic of the factory's luxury wares. The urn features classic twin scrolled handles, characteristic of the period and to the Derby factory. Minor repair to base. The lamp has a custom shade, finial, and base befitting such a beautiful urn.
