A stunning vintage brass armillary sphere table lamp, mounted on a solid teak base. This was made in England, it dates from the 1950-60’s. An armillary sphere is an old astronomical instrument and model of the celestial globe, constructed from rings and hoops representing the equator and other electrical circles with the earth at the centre. This lamp is of amazing quality with very fine details, it’s a great size and is extremely impressive. The condition is excellent for its age, we have given this a good clean and it has been re-wired. The brass retains plenty of patina and charm, it is all structurally sound. The black shade is new and is included with the lamp.
